Marie Antoinette Birthday Party

For my 21st Birthday I decided to do something I had wanted to do for some time.

In high school I had decided that I wanted to have a Marie Antoinette Wedding.  But that just wasn't realistic.  So, for my 21st, I figured there couldn't be a better way to celebrate it!  I had never drank alcohol(neither had Daniel) and so we wanted to celebrate it in an appropriate way.

Now, when I say that I want to have a  Marie Antoinette party, I am referring to Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette movie.

Here are the invitations:
The inside read:
Her Ladyship Hughes summons you to court
for an evening of enchantment and merrymaking.
To mark the occasion of her 21st birthday.
Friday the Thirtieth of December, Two Thousand Eleven.

Celebrating will commence at six o'clock in the evening.
The royal procession shall then journey to Applebee's
where the ladies will attempt to lose their heads.

Lace, pearls, petticoats and other frippery are not required but highly encouraged.

And, here is the party:

My Birthday cake was made by a friend (and myself) the day before.
lots of work/hours went into this cake!!!

These macaroons were DELICIOUS.  The blue ones were filled with
blackberry jam and the pink ones were filled with buttercream frosting.
The recipe for the macaroons is right here.

These delicious treats were found on pinterest.  Just simply stuck white
chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips into raspberries.  :)

I also found the idea for pink chocolate chip cookies on pinterest.
Now that I've done this, I can't stop coloring my chocolate chip cookies.

My friend Jessica made me this wonderful banner!

I loved the lights behind the sheer curtains!  It was beautiful!

My friend Sara made my Marie Antoinette dress!  :)

We had a BLAST.
